A clinical study involving 564 adults (BMI 30-40 kg/m2, without T2DM) found that compared with orlistat (3120 mg, weight loss of 4.1 kg), LIR (subcutaneous administration of 1.2 mg/d, 1.8 mg/d, 2.4 mg/d or 3 mg/d) had an average weight loss of 4.8-7.2 kg, the two-year extended experiment of which also showed similar results (88, 89)

Studies have shown that activating transcription factor 3 (ATF3) can mediate ferroptosis of osteoblasts in a high-glucose environment by inhibiting the activity of System Xc-, thereby inducing osteoporosis (27), and more studies have targeted GPX4 to inhibit ferroptosis, with the aim of treating osteoporosis (23, 24)
